terrorist activity

There have been multiple terroriset attacks on our country in the past few decades on our country. probably one of the most prominent, would be the attack on the twin towers in New York City, NY. This attack happened on September 11, 2001. The attacks involved two terrorists high jacking planes and flying them into the twin tours. These attacks killed thousands of people.

Right after these attacks, all the security in the country increased. at airports, people are now forced to move through more lines that test for explosive materials and any weapons. I think that this is an important process, but it can be overdone a little. One polkicy that is not enforced, is racial profiling. this could be an important part of our security system. Israel, which has one of the best security systems in the world, uses racial profiling, and they catch many terrorists every day.

My school

I attend Anderson High school in Austin Texas. Our School has roughly 2300 people. One of the interesting things about our school is that we have the international baccalaureate program. We do a lot of extra work and community service and we can start out college with 26 credits. We also have a lot of events that happen at our school. Our Homecomeing dance is tonight.
We also have a lot of good sports teams, like football, basketball and Volleyball.

illegal immigration

In America, there are many people that immigrate here illegally, but this is not necessarily a problem. one of the main arguments that most people have to illegal immigration is that they steal jobs from citizens. But most of the citizens of our country would not do the jobs that the illegal immigrants do, because they are willing to do more work for less money, the problem is not so much that they are stealing jobs, it is we want to be payed more than other people. Most of the illegal immigration in this country is from Mexico, to fix this "problem" many republican politicians propose building a wall. A wall would not work, because any physical obstruction can be breached if people really need to. Billions of dollars are being spent on said wall, with this money, we could be working to make Mexico a place where the people that are immigrating would want to live. Another place that illegal immigrants are coming from, is war zones in the middle east and Africa. I think that people should not have a problem with these people immigrating, because if they did not come then they would die. That means that all the people who are opposed to letting the refuges into our country are saying that they'd rather let them die then give them a little space in our country.

At the beginning of the summer I went to New York. I stayed with my grandparents for 3 weeks, Then i went to South Dakota. In south Dakota I went to the Bad Lands National Park. In the badlands I went rock climbing and did photography. The highest cliff i free climbed was 120 feet. When i left South Dakota I came back to Austin.

Three weeks after I came back to Austin I want to Camp Young Judea, a Jewish camp in Wimberly Texas. At camp, we took a bus trip around the country. The places we went to on the trip were Carlsbad caverns New Mexico, The Grand Canyon In Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada, Durango, Colorado, and a few other small places. We travelled over 1000 miles, (1609km) on a charter bus.
After camp I came back to Austin and played guitar and skated for the rest of the summer. Two weeks later we went back to school.

Hey, I'm Lucas Markman, I live in Austin Texas. I play Basketball, football, and I skate. In basketball, i play point guard. In football I play tight end, and corner back. With skating, i ride a pro Girl board, thunder trucks, and Spitfire wheels. I have two stepbrothers, who are in 9th and 6th grade. I have a dog named Chaviva, which is friendly in Hebrew. She is part golden retriever and something else.

My biggest talent is probably music. I sing and play guitar, keyboard, drums, and a couple other instruments. I write a lot of songs, and record them in my house. I have a band called murder by concept. At my school, i am taking all honors classes. I am Taking geometry, world geography, writing, biology, French 2, Choir, and Teen leadership.
